The slender pieces of bog oak of varying length are offcuts from another piece I was working on.   I profiled the largest piece into a human form silhouette and this evolved into a family of a couple and child. The final piece was bent and twisted and represents the elder grandparent of the family. The base compliments the walk of life theme as the elder is behind and struggles up hill while the young family are upright and striding forward with the child inquisitively leading the way being watch protectively by it's mother.
