In the old stone out-buildings beside my workshop there are shelves of old broken retired tools and agricultural implements. Discarding and waste was frowned upon by older generations. Reuse and sustainability was commendably the norm long before the current environmental necessity. "Don't throw that out - you never know what that could be used for yet" was the anthem! I came across this half broken hay bob tine that hasn't turned hay for many decades of summers. I had this this wonderful bog oak offcut on the workbench with its unique curves and cracks and I married it with the hay bob tine with its man made coil spring curves and neck. A strange but yet a compatible connection between the millennia.
