This cracked and fabulously shaped piece of bog oak was an offcut from a larger bough. It has managed to survive this long so I stripped out the decayed bark and wood back to sound oak to reveal the natural grain and this incredible shape. I mounted it on a smooth sanded bog oak base which highlights the rough texture of the original oak wood. Can you see the hooded medieval couple embracing?
