The original bog oak piece looked like a fist holding a spear in defiance so I sculpted the fingers, thumb and hand to emphasise the original feature. A replica stone-age flint spear head highlights the thousands and thousands of years since this piece of oak lived on earth before being entombed and preserved by the bog.
